How to arrive

How to reach Gijón

Gijón is in the Principality of Asturias on the shores of the Bay of Biscay on the northern coast of the Iberian Peninsula

By plane, Asturias Airport (airport code: OVD) is located in Santiago del Monte, about 40 Km from Gijón by motorway. There is a regular coach service ALSA and a taxi rank at the airport.

By road you can reach Gijón: From the east, on the Cantabrian motorway (A8), from Bilbao and Santander. From the west, on the same A8 motorway, from Galicia. From the south, on the A66/AP66 from Madrid, León and Oviedo. ALSA also provides connections by coach with the major Spanish cities.

By railway, there are trains from Madrid, Barcelona and Alicante. Check RENFE for connections from other places. There are also other regional trains along the cantabrian coast. Check FEVE for details.
